Donating a well is considered one of the greatest forms of ṣadaqah jāriyah, because people and animals benefit continuously from water — and the reward flows to the donor even after death.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim, 1631)
After the Asef Syed Foundation Centre is built, we plan to have designated quarters for the abandoned elderly in Sherpur village. Many elderly persons have no one to care for them and have been left to fend for themselves, similarly to orphans. We hope to bring about a harmonious community of abandoned elderly and abandoned children whom could greatly benefit from one another’s care. A place to call home, to live with dignity, love and community. No elder should be left in neglect, to spend their final days by themselves. We hope to bring about healing and loving care for the broken hearted abandoned elderly in the village.
We are currently supporting a Madrassa in Sherpur Bangaldesh, which also serves as an orphanage and Masjid. The children there are studying to become hafiz.
This orphanage and masjid serve as vital community centers, offering shelter, Islamic education, and spiritual guidance to children. They foster hope, faith, and support, strengthening the village’s social and cultural fabric.
PHASE 2:
We are working on building the the Asef Syed Foundation Centre – which will be a larger orphanage to accomodate more children, Insh’Allah. The land has been donated by Asef’s grandfather and CoFounder Abdusalam. The building foundation bricks have been laid down, which was built to be able to support 3 stories (floors).
With your support, we can complete the build and transform the lives of orphans in this village and surrounding areas, giving them the care, love and nurturing all children deserve.
